The first year of Mission Scotland!

In August 2023, our family left Brazil and moved to Scotland to serve as Christian missionaries. We were invited to work in partnership with Bible Centred Ministries (BCM International) and GLO-Europe to spread the Gospel and develop ministries for children and young people in the local community, as well as assist in equipping brothers and sisters in Christ for Christian service, whether in their local communities or anywhere in the world created by God. A great challenge for us.

Motivation and Goals

Our decision to come to Scotland was inspired by previous visits to the country, where we were deeply moved by the country’s rich history and its contribution to the Christian faith. We felt a strong calling to help revitalise the local church and support the Christian education of young people and children, bearing witness to how faith in Christ has transformed our lives.

Experiences and Challenges

Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the local Church, as well as by members of the institutions that brought us here, which made our adaptation much smoother. However, we faced cultural challenges, especially at the beginning of our journey here. Our previous familiarity with the country, thanks to our earlier visits, helped us overcome these difficulties more quickly.

Activities and Contributions

During our first year, we were involved in several missionary activities. Luana is directly involved with BCM, focusing on the Christian education of school-aged children. She also works with teenagers and young adults, focusing on Christian discipleship. Junior is collaborating with Tilsley College/GLO-Europe, helping to train missionaries and Christian leaders committed to the Scriptures. He serves as Academic Dean and also as a lecturer, being responsible for the maintenance and accreditation of the programmes offered by Tilsley College. In addition, we participate in community projects and local events, always striving to build meaningful connections with the community.

Personal and Family Aspects

Our daughter Maria Luiza’s adaptation was a crucial part of our experience. She quickly made friends and integrated into the local school community. As a family, we have had many memorable moments that have strengthened our faith and commitment to our mission. Our relationships with community members have been instrumental in settling in and well-being in Scotland.

Reflections and Learnings

As we reflect on our first year in Scotland, we realise how much we have grown and learned. The experience has taught us to trust God more deeply and to value the importance of community and mutual support. We are excited about the next steps in our missionary journey and remain committed to serving and sharing the love of Christ with those around us. We are grateful for all that God has done in our lives and for what He will do in the future.

Please support our mission in Scotland.

We are excited to share the wonderful experiences and positive impact our mission has had in Scotland. Since arriving, we have worked tirelessly to support the local church, the ministry of BCM Scotland and the work of Tilsley College/GLO-Europe through educational programmes and community outreach activities focusing on the Christian faith.

However, to continue this vital work, we need your support. Your prayers and donations will enable us to expand our projects, reach more people, and make an even bigger difference. Every prayer, and every contribution, regardless of the amount, is extremely valuable and helps us fulfil our mission of spreading the love and hope of Christ.

If you feel called to support our mission, please consider praying and donating. Together, we can transform lives and spread the message of God’s Kingdom among the nations.

Thank you so much for your support and prayers.

Every Blessing.
